How Does Vaping Affect Your Dental Health?

According to a study done in 2018, vaping has been linked to increased inflammation in gums and causes damage to DNA. Because vaping increases gum issues, it causes concern for periodontal disease. This leads to bone loss, dry mouth, and bad breath.

Another study from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute found that vaping can cause blood vessel damage and can decrease your blood flow, which leads to a lot of adverse health issues, not only affecting your dental health but your overall health as well.

Vaping Epidemic

Many young people are influenced by vaping, as it is easier for them to get their hands on. One in four high school seniors have reported using e-cigarettes, and one in eleven 8th graders have admitted to vaping too.

Isn't Vaping Better Than Smoking Cigarettes?

Vaping products have not been in existence long enough to understand the long-term effects as compared to cigarettes. However, with the studies we do have, we would argue that vaping is not safe and can lead to many issues when it comes to your health, both general and oral.
