How Does My Dental Insurance Work?

A common question we are asked at Coshocton Dentistry is, "How does dental insurance work?" We know it can be confusing as everyone has different coverage and insurance plans, so we offer assistance to anyone in need of answers.

What is Dental Insurance?

Your dental insurance is a contract between your employer and your insurance company. We will file your dental claims for you as a courtesy. Most dental insurance works on a yearly maximum, either $1000 to $2000. You have a deductible which you have to meet, which is $25 to $50 dollars. Once the deductible is met, the insurance company pays on a percentage.

  • Preventive is paid at 100%.
  • Basic its paid 80%.
  • Major is usually paid at 50%.

We do accept all insurances through employers, and we are in-network with Cigna Dental.
